Lots of members worked.  Surprised to be called by DL/K3LR for one of my
few 15 meter contacts.   And I got a good laugh when K9 nitwit called in
on 40 phone.

My throat hurts after all those SSB contacts and I couldn't get to sleep
for a long time with all that adrenaline zipping around my bloodstream.
But it was worth it to have so much fun.

Comments:

The first few hours were pretty tough. 15 very disappointing and 20 was very
poor from here with only a dipole. I don't ordinarily operate SSB but I
make an
exception for the OHQP. I had to get the K3 manual out to figure out how to
hook up the mic and set the ALC and CMP. 40 meters really produced. All
together, I worked all states except ID, AK and ND, and N1MM says that I
worked
all counties on one mode or the other! I don't think I've ever done that
before.
No assistance used, BTW.

Very few mobiles worked during the first half of the contest but K8O and
K8MR
were doing their normal fantastic jobs. K8RYU was also doing great. I hope
your check engine light went off, Ralph.

Thanks for some late summer fun!
