Historically, our annual meeting has taken place right after Christmas
at the QTH of K8AZ. Tom rolls out the red carpet (sometimes placed atop
deep snow) and hosts a wonderful get-together. Like so many other
things, that fun evening of socializing was destroy by COVID so we met
on Zoom. The meeting was held Saturday afternoon at 3PM and it was
attended by the following.
N8TR, NJ3K, N3SD, K8ZT, K8CX, N3GJ, WZ8P, WB8K, W8CAR, K8MR, K8AZ,
W8KEN, AA8OY, ND8L, K3LA, K3LR, W3YQ
All participants were given the opportunity to update the group on their
current condition. I'm happy to report that everyone's doing well.
By unanimous consent, the following members were elected to serve during
2022.
K8AZ President
K3LR Vice-president
W3YQ Secretary/Treasurer
W1NN Web Guru
A moment of solemn silence was held for two of our long-time members,
AC8E and WT8C. Both of their keys are now silence, but our fond
memories of these two FB OM's will last forever.
A motion was made and unanimously approved to thank ND8L for serving as
NCC Treasurer for the past 8 years. He resigned the position because
he's now spending half of his time in Florida.
W3YQ agreed to take his place. I'm therefore feebly documenting the
happenings of the Zoom meeting. Of importance to all, the dues for 2022
were once again remitted. Historically, members have "chipped in"
anyway during the annual meeting as well as at the summer picnic. Our
treasury is in good shape with a balance of $2526,00, but it's always
nice to increase the balance. NCC has stepped up over the years and
paid for hospitality suites at Dayton, held summer picnics, donated to
WRTC, bought plaques as trophies in numerous contests, etc. We pass the
hat, take care of business, and operate in a quiet but efficient
manner. If you'd like to throw some money into the treasury, send it to
me via US Mail (a check to my QRZ address), or Paypal it to me at
w3yq at w3yq.com. Make out checks to Tim Jellison and not NCC because I'll
just run it informally - put the money in a separate "NCC envelope"
under the mattress. I'll report the condition of the treasury
periodically as changes occur, both on the plus and the minus sides.
I hope you agree with me that the North Coast Contesters has always been
a great club. No dues, no required meetings, no nonsense. I've been in
the club since the beginning and I've known most of members for years.
Some of them for decades! As treasurer, I will keep track of who gives
what and how much we spend on various things, but I'm not going to
publish detailed data - just periodic quick summaries. That's how we've
always done it in NCC. Anyone who wishes to see the books can ask for a
copy at any time, however. No questions asked.
Very 73 and see you in the contests.
