[NCC] Multiple Calls in CQ 160

The ARRL, without much notice as far as I can tell, did slightly relax their IMHO stupid rule about multiple calls from remote stations to read (from the ARRL 160M rules):
============
STTN.1. A transmitter used to contact one or more stations may not be subsequently used under any other call sign during the contest period, except a) for family stations where more than one call sign has been issued, and then only if the second call sign is used by a different operator. b) for remote stations used by individual amateurs that have limited or no access to their own stations.This rule does not permit any operator to use multiple call signs at the same station to manufacture contacts to another station in the contest
============
I don't know how they determine what constitutes limited access. KO7SS has a good station in Arizona, but if he gets on from an RHR station in Maine, is it a violation if somebody else uses that station during the contest?
A new call on the second day is fine, though if that is the requirement, if I operate K8AAA on Friday and K8BBB on Saturday, while you operate W8AAA on Friday and W8BBB on Saturday, K8AAA will never be able to work W8BBB nor K8BBB work W8AAA. An hour or two of off time before reuse of a previously used call seems reasonable to me.

Jim,
I strongly agree. Perhaps an hour or two between uses would keep the situation
from being abused. There are always people that will try to be "clever".
Doesn't the 1TX/1Call Rule become a penalty for Family Stations or Club
Stations or Remote Stations? Wouldn't the Rule force those folks to swap out
a main rig for their standby rig or mobile rig??
You would think that the Organizers of Contests should be in favor of MORE
Calls being available for Q's rather than less.
BTW, I like the idea of a second Call on the second day.

While any contest can get boring as it goes on and you run out of new people to work, a single band contest such as a 160 meter contest, can be especially bad for all but the most serious competitors.
But do note that CQ contests, unlike the ARRL contests, do not have a "one transmitter, one callsign" rule. So you're free to start over fresh using a new callsign from a previously used QTH or radio.
I've done this before in CQ160, using one call on Friday night, and a new one on Saturday night. It sure beats tuning by people, or having people tune by me, who I worked the first night.
I suggest you don't get crazy with the concept - lining up to work a buddy with five callsigns in a row is indeed unsportsmanlike. Take off at least a few hours before returning to use an old call. But using multiple calls giving others chances at more QSOs is a feature, not a bug.
