Yesterday we had about 40 people attend the annual NCC summer picnic at
K3LR. Kudos to many that drove long distances to attend.

I think N8AA drove the most miles! 4.5 hours one way! WA3FET, NJ3K, W8CAR,
K1LT, N3GJ and K8NZ also had long drives.

Thanks were given to Hal, W1NN for his ongoing NCC webmaster duties. We are
still in need of additional help for Hal.

Thanks to all NCC contest whips.

W8CAR and K8MR gave a good review of the Ohio QSO Party.

The President of MRRC, Victor, K1LT was an invited guest and enjoyed the
day.

Awesome to have antenna experts here such as WA3FET, NO3M, K3LC and K1LT
answering lots of questions and discussing ideas

It was great to see K3DR and N3RA - longtime friends that got caught up.

KB8N delivered a Ameritron AL-82 to K3UA

K3UA demonstrated running remote on his iPhone on 6 meters.

K8MR ran the AC8E (sk) flea market - that was very cool

N3RA brought a file folder of old NCC correspondence that K8CX will review

N3RA handed out winning club gavels to several members

NO3M gave a quick update in the shack on his activities on 630 and 2200
meters.

NO3M holds the 630 meter distance world record.

NO3M has worked Germany on 2200 meters (137 KHz). This might also be a
record. His antenna efficiency is 0.1 to 0.2%

Long time 10 meter expert N3GJ brought his Dad, Mike KA3NVP for a tour at
K3LR

You might remember that N8AMY and K8FF were recently in the spotlight in
QST. Both Amy and her Dad attended yesterday.

W3YQ was busy answering tower questions. NJ3K is getting ready to get a nice
set of antennas on the air.

I gave a tour of the new inband RX antenna - a Skyhawk at 30 feet on a
AB-577 rocket launcher.

Voluntary NCC contributions were collected by NCC Treasurer Tim, W3YQ. If
you would like to contribute, please contact Tim at w3yq at w3yq.com

Thanks to Amy, N8AMY for putting the NCC picnic together (her Pineapple
Kielbasa was amazing!).

Tom, K8CX was honored for his entry into the prestigious CQ Amateur Radio
Hall of Fame.

Thanks to WB8K's wife for the great desert!

I did receive regrets from W8WWV (via K8AZ), WW3S, K8MFO and WZ8P who were
not able to attend.

Thanks to NCC President Tom, K8AZ for running a super meeting.

NCC sure has some great members - very active, helpful and friendly!

It was great to see everyone yesterday. Get ready for the upcoming contest
season!
