Hello Fellow DXers,
   I have been just informed by NOARS's President Carl Rimmer, W8KRF, of
the following:

   It is with great sadness and extreme shock and disbelief that I 
announce the passing of John McKenna, WD8IQJ, in his sleep on Friday, 
February 8, 2013.  Arrangements have not been finalized as of this time 
but you will be notified as quickly as we find out any details.  Our 
condolences go out to his family, especially his grandson, Morgan, 
KD8JNK and his granddaughter, Stephanie, KD8TCZ.  John will be greatly 
missed at our meetings, events, and functions.  He was a major part of 
the NOARS organization.  Keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.

This is a shock. I saw John last Sunday at the NOARS Winterfest. John
was a great friend who I have known for years. He and I worked together
to put the BARF-80 BBS online many years ago. We originally wrote the
software in TRS-80 Basic language. He got me interested in RTTY and
was one of the original BARF-80 members. He was a person with a big
heart and surely will be missed by me.....
I do not know what else to say... I am speechless... Tedd
