In 2013 and 2014 the organizers of the Mansfield Hamfest scheduled it
at the same time as the ARRL CW DX Contest. This was "supposedly"
because of an "oversight". In 2015 the problem was remedied, and there
was no conflict.
Fast forward to 2016. Guess what? They did it again! ARRL DX CW is
February 20 and 21 ... the Mansfield Hamfest is February 21.
Does anybody remember the "hippy ballad" of the 1960s, entitled "Where
Have All The Flowers Gone"? There is a refrain...
"When will they every learn, when will they ever learn"???
Guess the organizers don't realize that some hams still use their radios
... and they are a sanctioned ARRL Hamfest ...
DUH.
