I wanted to let everyone know that we will have an ARRL QSL card checker coming to the Hamfest.
So bring your cards. Here are some comments to help the process of card checking

Make sure that the QSL Cards are sorted such that they match the order in which they appear on the
Record Sheet(s), and YES, the folks wanting the cards checked have to complete a record sheet PRIOR
to having the cards checked, whether it’s the online form or the paper one that you fill out
manually!!! The same goes for WAS and VUCC Applications.

If you have a lot of cards to be checked, he may just send you away to sort them in the proper
order (if sorted incorrectly) before he checks them. And again - yes, the Record Sheets must be filled out
in addition to the front page of the application, if using the paper application, before he can
check the cards. Both parts are required for the application to be complete.

Please also tell everyone to either bring a blank stamped #10 envelope or $1.00 to cover the cost
of mailing the cards to the ARRL. If you choose to bring a stamped envelope, DO NOT address the
envelopes (that includes no return address on the envelope) as that the card checker will do the
addressing and mailing himself. The ARRL will not accept applications mailed by anyone but the
card checker. It is probably easier to bring $1.00 as then, the card checker can mail all of the
applications in one envelope to the ARRL.

If you have any questions, please contact the card checker by e-mail or by phone (330-465-6206)
