Hello Fellow DXers,
I am sad and disappointed to report the following: during the June's
General Membership meeting, the membership voted to not participate in
this year's ARRL Field Day (FD) event. This is due to not having enough
CW operators to run 2A. The option of running 1A was talked about, but
the membership felt that we could not be competitive enough for the FD
event. The whole disappointing thing about this is NODXA has many CW
operators in club. I have heard many state that they only operate CW,
and yet they do not want to operate/participate on CW for FD. Hopefully,
next year (2020) NODXA will have enough CW volunteers to participate.
First declining membership and now no FD. What will be strike three?
I suggest reading June's CQ magazine under Bob's, N2OO, at the end of
his DX article called "Club Participation" (page 105).

P.S. Since there will not be a FD this year. The club is looking to
possibly plan a picnic sometime during the summer. Stay tuned.....
