I had this problem as well.  I ran out of hard drive space and had to delete them all. There is a setting in the program that allows you to not save them.

Subject: [Nodxa] WSJT-X might save wave files

Hello,

This is an FYI for FT8 users  (FT4, etc. also). My apologies for taking
your time if this news does not affect you.

I am working on cleaning files from old computers before I trash them.
On one machine that I had run WSJT-X prior to version 2.2.2 I found that
every 15 seconds the machine was saving the whole WAV file for the
received sound.  This amounted to tens of thousands of ".wav" files in
the local applications directory on the PC.  You can read more about
this problem in

http://www.va3rom.com/docs/WSJT-X%20Audio%20File%20Save%20Problem%20and%20Fix.pdf

If you haven't checked your PC (or Mac, Linux) you might not have
noticed this problem.  There's  a good chance you don't need all those
files eating your system drive.

I am not seeing this problem yet in version 2.2.2 in Windows 10. Note:
if you were using Windows XP the naming convention for the local
applications directory is slightly different from Windows 7 and above.
