Hi again,

When I sent that news it was cut and pasted from an email from a mayor
in Cuyahoga County and I did not realize it likely does not apply to
other counties.  The missing details are now supplied here.

Dear Resident:

COVID Vaccine distribution plan for Ohio
Progress Update

Phase 1A - began 12/28-12/30 (at Shaker, Independence, & Westlake
locations) and has continued on
select dates at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds. This Phase includes
those in the following groups
who choose to be vaccinated:

Healthcare workers and personnel who are routinely involved in
the care of COVID-19 patients.
Residents and staff in nursing homes.
Residents and staff in assisted living facilities.
Patients and staff at state psychiatric hospitals.
People with developmental disabilities and those with mental
health disorders, including
substance use disorders, who live in group homes, residential
facilities, or centers, and staff
         at those locations.
Residents and staff at the two state-run homes for Ohio veterans.
         EMS responders.

Phase 1B - will begin on Tuesday, January 19th, and will include those
in the following groups who
choose to be vaccinated: These will be available to those who are
80 years of age and older
and who are not in long-term care facilities. The state expects to
receive 100,000 doses that
first week. With each following week the state hopes to open up
vaccinations to those within
the next five- year age group. For example, on Jan 25th, the state
anticipates vaccinations
will open up to those 75 years old and older. The following week it
will open to people 70 and
older, and the week of February 8th, vaccinations will be available
to those 65 and older.
During the week of January 25th - younger people with severe
congenital, developmental, or
early-onset medical disorders that make them particularly
vulnerable - such as cerebral palsy;
spina bifida; congenital heart disease; type 1 diabetes; inherited
metabolic disorders; severe
neurologic disorders including epilepsy; severe genetic disorders
including Down Syndrome,
Fragile X, Prader Willi Syndrome, Turner Syndrome; severe lung
disease including cystic
fibrosis and severe asthma; sickle cell anemia; and alpha- and
beta-thalassemia. During the
first week of February, the state's goal will be to begin
vaccination of school personnel with
the goal of having children begin full person or hybrid learning by
March 1, 2021. Specific
dates and locations for Phase 1B have not yet been announced, but
updated information will
likely be released to the press. All updated information is
available at the State's website
