A3, TONGA (Postponed). After over one year of being QRT since May 2020 due
to Covid-19, Masa, JA0RQV, has postponed his June A35JP activity from
Tongatapu Island (OC-049) again. He states the following on QRZ.com and
his Blog page, June 12th [edited]: "I am so sorry to announce that I finally
had to decide to withdraw from Fiji and return to Japan on 14th June 2021,
since my flight from 3D2 to A35 can not be approved by Tongan government.
I even spent two months waiting for their decision. It is very unfortunate,
but due to Covid-19 pandemic in Fiji. I am planning to retry to enter Tonga
in August or September this year via ZL..... 73 Masa JA0RQV in 3D2"

NA-039/ Hal, W8HC, sent out the following press release (dated June 7th)
NA-070. about the upcoming KL7RRC July IOTA DXpedition [edited]: The
KL7RRC Kiska (NA-070) and Adak (NA-039) Islands IOTA Expedition
by the Russian Robinson Club (RRC) scheduled for early July is
still on track. Team leader Yuri, N3QQ, reports that all of the
advance gear has arrived in Dutch Harbor, AK, and the chartered
56-foot aluminum hull cutter SV Seal, sailing out of Cordova,
AK, should arrive at Dutch later this week to pick up all of the
supplies necessary to support the 5 man operation at Kiska.
Meanwhile, members of the KL7RRC team, consisting of Hal/W8HC,
Rob/N7QT, Walt/N6XG, Tim/NL8F and Yuri/N3QQ will fly to Adak
Island on June 30th. They will operate from Adak for 3 or 4
days while they await arrival of Seal following its 450 mile
continued sail westward in the Aleutians following its stop at
Dutch to pick up the staged expedition supplies.
Plans call for the team to board Seal on July 3rd at Adak and
continue out into the Bering Sea for the 260 mile journey to
Kiska Island. With Seal on anchor in the old Kiska harbor, the
team will set up their operating camp onshore with 3 stations
QRV commencing July 7th. KL7RRC is scheduled to operate for 6
days at this rare IOTA entity after which they will strike camp
and make the return sail back to Adak. Anticipating good wind
and seas they hope to arrive at Adak on July 14 for two or three
more days operation there before their return flights home on
July 17th.
Hal, W8HC, will be once again using his Garmin In-Reach SAT

JW0W SVALBARD DXPEDITION NEWS (Update). Ken, LA7GIA, posted the following
on FaceBook (https://www.facebook.com/groups/288876866220488), June 4th
[edited]: JW0W expedition to Prins Karls Forland Island west of Svalbard
is going well (20-26th July). Today we received the final permit from
authorities to access the nature reserve west of Svalbard. The area is
only accessible by boat roughly 3h west of Longyearbyen. Progress since
last update:
* We plan for 60/40/30/20m as main bands with VDA and verticals, but
will also have a Spanish Quad on 17/15/12/10m with us.
* We now plan for 4-5 stations with Elecraft K3/Kx3 and 1000W amplifiers
which includes inband operation and all modes CW/SSB/FT8.
* We have extended the security and will bring with us 2 Huskys for
added polar bear protection in addition to one person on duty 24/7
* We need an expensive mandatory SAR insurance. This adds to the expenses
so our budget is going up to 16000 USDs.
We are grateful that we have 8 supporters so far donating to the DX-
