Hi,

1)

IF

you see in the FT8 Band Activity panel that the DX station is sending
double reports with a semicolon , such as

K1ABC RR73; W9XYZ <KH1/KH7Z.>   -17

THEN

you should be using FOX/HOUND mode as hound if you are going to make
calls.  This will greatly aid your getting a QSO.  But don't set up
hound mode if there is no semicolon unless you are otherwise advised.

Apparently  in the F/H case (example is in monitoring with DXSUMMIT)
receiving ops are uploading reports to the cluster WITHOUT advising you
to use F/H mode in WSJTX.  In this case when it's really the DX running
F/H and you want a QSO, you need to know.

2)

Also, and just my opinion with some paranoia,  some ops are advising the
cluster of the DX being on a frequency when the DX is NOT calling.
Tonight I see many NA transmissions calling 3DA0  (RU or WW)  but never
a return from the 3DA0 station. And I also see no or few signal reports
in the Band Activity panel;  ops aren't completing QSOs so it can't be
just my receiver.
