Wow! I just saw this on the IC-7800 reflector:

Just off the fax maching from Icom
MSRP $13,466.65 - and for those who think your dealer is making a TON
of money - the dealer cost is over $10K. My guess is street price
will settle in around $10,999 - $11,500.
Interesting note that it DOES NOT qualify for any dealer demo,
hamfest or other discount programs nor any Natioal, SWR (whatever the
hell that is??? - I dunno - I am an Icom Marine dealer) Icom Day or
Hamfest Coupons.
Now stating shipment around the end of April. They also refer to a
rumor about the delay in delivery and that "The truth of the matter
is that we are enabling the Eathernet port, which will be used in the
future upgrading the firmware via the internet!"
There you have it. I just faxed them a PO for two.

And I'll predict that a stock Orion will have better IMD and BDR
performance at 1 kHz spacings when ARRL publishes their Expanded Test
Report. Just tell your XYL how much money you are saving by buying an
Orion! ;-)

P.S. For another $40, Inrad's #352 kit will probably buy you another
~8 dB of IMD dynamic range at 1000 Hz spacings.
