The yaesu Quadra develops the negative going ALC voltage, not the
transceiver itself. None of Yaesu's sales stuff mentions that the
transceiver needs to have an ALC input. Maybe this is not all that bad -
other people must use Orions with a Quadra. My IC-765 has overdriven the
Quadra with only the result that a message is generated and the amp goes to
standby (excessive PA current).
