INTRODUCTION
First of all we would like to send our great thanks to all contest
participants. 945 stations took part in this year SP DX Contest. We mean
stations that sent contest logs. We are sorry to say that we found a big
number of call-signs we did't receive logs from - unfortunately too many
Polish calls in this number.
We know that contest rules do not require to send logs. In any way it is a
good habit to do it. Nowadays when great number of participants use
computer logging, when we have so many ways to exchange information it is
not difficult just to send a log, even for checking purposes. Without
check logs we have no chance to verify contacts in logs of other stations,
it is not possible to verify the contest reports we only can verify call-
signs.
Before presenting contest results we would like to express our thanks for
HAMs who helped us to popularise our contest and make it better known.
Long before the contest, in February, we asked some amateur radio friends
to help us with translating contest rules for our WWW page. Thanks, dear
friends for paying your time and helping us. Our thanks go to:
* Erwan F6JXX - translating into French
* Paul DF4ZL - translating into German and sending contest information
to "CQ DL"
* Lech LA7MFA/SP5LGT - translating into Norwich and sending contest
information to "Amatoradio"
* Kazik PY5ZHP - translating into Portuguese
* Mirek 9V1XE/SP5IXI - sending contest information to Thai bulletin
"RAST Newsletter"
* Chen BA1HAM - translating into Chinese (thanks to Mirek's
9V1XE/SP5IXI help)
* Alex RA4HT - translating into Russian
Contest rules were also translated into English and Italian. All of
mentioned language versions were published on SP DX Contest 2000 WWW page
since February 2000.
*------------------------------------------------------------------------*
LOGS VERIFICATION
This year almost a half of all contest logs was sent via e-mail. It helped
us to use computer cross-checking in big number of logs. We also typed in
a lot of paper logs into computer logging software to make our work easier
and more accurate. Some participants sent their log files on diskettes -
thanks for this, for understanding our work.
We found some logs with incomplete information, i.e. no serial numbers
sent. In such cases we were not able to verify contacts and such a log was
used for checking purposes only. In same cases UTC and local time were
used in the same log. Such logs were very hard to check - in any way we
decided not to reduce QSO points for such mistakes. However we must we
would like to ask for more accurate checking of your logs before sending
them to the Contest Committee in the future.
Contest Committee checked all logs and all contacts. First of all we
verified sent/received serial numbers, call-signs and scoring. In many
cases claimed score was reduced due to found errors. But in contest
results you can also notice some situations when the verified score is
much better than the claimed one. It is the result of wrong scoring:
sometimes only one point for QSO with Polish station, sometimes in multi-
band sections the multiplier was counted only once.

AWARDS
The highest scores in all categories will be awarded in all countries
which participated in SP DX Contest 2000. Contest Committee will also
award other top scores - it depends on the number of participants from the
given country.
We would like to award the stations using the following key: first place
only if the number of participants is less then 10; places 1-3 if the
number of participants is at least 10 and less then 20; places 1-5 if the
number of participants in a category is 20 and above. We will use such
rules if they are accepted by the SP DX Club.
Traditionally there are also special plaques for the best scores in
categories, countries or continents. These are founded by Polish HAMs and
they can individually choose which score they want to award. So far we
have the following declarations:
SP6AYP - the best score from z Australia/Oceania
SP5CPR - the best score from Japan
SP5DRH - the best score (without SP) in Single Operator Multi Band CW
SP5DRH - the best Polish score in Single Operator Multi Band CW
SP5LXR - the best score (without SP) in Single Operator Multi Band
Mixed
SP7NMW - the best CW score from Africa
9V1XE/SP5IXI - the best score from the North America
SP5ULD - declared to sponsor two award-plates (categories are not
decided now)
SP5ZCC - the best score (without SP) in Multi Operator Mixed Mode
SP5ZCC - the best Polish SWL score
The above list is still open.

"FAIR PLAY" AWARDS
We mentioned at the beginning that many stations did not send their logs.
That is why we decided to award one SP and one not SP station for their
fair play contesting. Awarded stations made only a few or even one QSO but
sent their logs.
"Fair Play" diplomas are awarded to: SP9MQH and JA1STY.
Marian SP9MQH made only three contest contacts. He sent his log written on
a QSL card. Kioshi JA1STY made only one QSO and send his log not for
checking only - it is classified. Thanks for the contesting in accordance
with Ham Spirit basics.

EQIPMENT USED IN SP DX CONTEST
Not all participants sent information about the equipment used during the
contest. In any way about 75% described their equipment so we decided to
publish it for your interest.

COMMENTS of the PARTICIPANTS:
pasmach.
DF4ZL: Dziekuje za contest. Aktywnosc i propagacja w zawodach byly dobre.
Do spotkania w SPDXC 2001.
DJ6WU: I have only short parts of time, few points. But I am a friend of
SP - stn in CW.
DK5ZX: I thank all OM's for the ufb QSO's in this ufb contest! All QSL
cards are written and on the way in the next days!
DL1LAW: mni tnx for Award SP DX Club. For 1999 I have no results and for
2000 no rules, hope all ok?
DL3AG: Good conditions, but not for station with simple antennas as for
me.
DL3KDC: Pomimo wszystkich glosow krytycznych uwazam, ze zawody nalezy w
dalszym ciagu kontynuowac. Dziekuje za mozliwosc zrobienia QSO z nowymi
(dla mnie) stacjami polskimi.
DL3KWF: Most wanted WOJ is "O" - sorry, hope next year to work all WOJs
DL3LBZ: Malo stacji z SP.
do 24 UTC
DL7VGU: Vielen Dank fur Contest
DL8TWA: Conditions on 28MHz were best at the start of the contest
EA3CM: I like very much to participate in the SPDX Contest 2000. I hope
for the next one I can have more time for a more contacts !"

G0MTN: Good fun - easier than last year. A pity the 1999 results were not
available before the 2000 contest
G0RGH: Very nice contest - well organised / good publicity on WWW.
Little/No propagation (G-SP) on 10 and 15m during 24 hours."
G0VQR: It was my first time entering the SP test. I decided to enter
single band as I did not have much spair time over the weekend. I was
determined to work all 16 provinces on 20 meters before I went out. I
was so pleased to get the last Podlaskie province (O)
G3KNU: This was the first time I have worked this contest, and I enjoyed
it very much indeed.
G3UFY: I had to work all weekend. Next year I hope to have more time and
will make a better entry. Vy 73 to all de Steve G3UFY"
G3VQO: My antenna is too short for good signal on 80/160, and signals to
Poland not good on 10/15, so very difficult contest for me !!!
GM3CFS: Very fine an enjoyable contest. Lots of SP stations on both CW and
SSB but didn't quite get the 16 multiplier. Thanks also for nice
certificates and hope to get one for the year 2000.
GM4ELV/QRP: Sorry - was only able to work one day. See you next year
HB9HFX: I just wanted to test a new antenna. I was really happy to contact
the 16 areas in single-op, single-band mode!
IN3PEE: I'm very glad for my first "SP DX Contest" = 52 QSO's with my
little radio station is record, HI.
JA2CWU: Please send me new multiplier checklist.
JA4LCI: Tks a lot for SPs activity. I enjoyed contest but I mistook
contest number no. 56 (57, 58) 59!
JA5-3278: Please send me result list.
JA7DOT: Not full operate, because that day was much busy. But I was enjoy.
JA9SCB: The condition on 15m was very good. But I could only work on 2
hours just start of the contest.
JE4CIL: Thanks for many SP stations
JF2FIU: What an active SP stations they are! I was enjoy this Contest. See
you again next year. Thank you many friends!
JG2REJ: Good dx to SP dx-ers
JM1LRQ: It is my first participation in SP DX CONTEST. I could have many
SP stations on 15m band. I could get all multipliers in this band. Hope
to meet you again in the next contest. Good luck and DX
JR2TRC: My system is poor - only 13 stations. See you next 2001
K2SX: Good start but condx went downhill rapidly. Weak 15 M sigs on Sunday
morning and no 10 meters at all on Sunday. Hope this is not the top of
the sunspot cycle or we are in trouble when they go down. Please use
this log for POLSKA Award. Thanks. Dennis K2SX
K3WWP/QRP: The measured output power of my station was 5 watts or less at
all times during the contest.
K9DIY/QRP: Enjoyed the contest and working SP stations on QRP. See you
next year and hope I have more time then.
KG2KJ: Propagacja krotka tylko w sobote, brak otwarcia w niedziele. Ciesze
sie, ze moglem brac udzial i do uslyszenia w przyszlym roku.
Pozdrowienia z NY. KG2KJ Remi ex. SP5ILP, DJ0MBF
LA6HJA: The higher bands were "dead"here at my QTH.
LW3EBJ: My ever first entry in the contest, I'm very glad working SP
stations, TNX! and see agn
N6ZZ: Conditions not as good as I had hoped for.
NO9E: Operacja goscinna ze stacji W4WA, Lula, GA. Moj polski znak - SP8FWB
NY1S: Very nice contest, but propagation poor. Lots of great operators! I
hope to hear you all again next year.
OE5JKL: I like the SPDX Contest , but I have had less time.
OE5KE: I was just testing my new built QRP - transceiver and tried is some
SP stations would hear my 4 Watts at dipole antenna. Yes, they have
good ears and so I could work all stations I heard myself. I enjoyed
the contest very much.
OH2-836: This was my first SP DX Contest. I was surprised to hear so many
Polish stations on SSB especially on 20 meters. Conditions were poor on
15 m and 10 m at least here in North. I heard stations from North
America, Asia and Africa but only few stations from
OK2MBP: My first SP DX Contest. Thanks FB contest. CU agn next year
OM1AW: There was not a list of codes of wojewodztwo's on the PZK WWW page
so that one could not know if all are one-character codes, or, some
remained as two-character as it was last year. Read, please, the Rules
for SPDX Contest on the WWW page and you wi
ON4CJN: Very nice contest. Till next year
ON4KLG: Very nice contest. I enjoyed it very much. See you next year.
ON4LCV: My first participation, see you in 2001
ON6BV: Very nice contest and very happy to have work all "wojewodztwo" of
Poland
ON6TJ: Great pleasue to participate. I hope come back again in year 2001
PA0IJM: Hope to found next year a bit more time in this contest. Have fun
with the incoming logs.
PA0MIR: Just started to hand out a couple of points but stayed to break my
last years score. Limited amount of multipliers keeps you looking for
the last one, hi. Luckily enough SN7N came on like last year. SSB is a
real struggle without big power.
PA1TK: Very pleased to sent you a log for the first time, enjoyable to
work so many SP, Nice contest! Just like Dutch PACC! I will send my log
by email as wordfiles, but to make sure also by standard postmail."
PA3BFH: Had lots of fun, did not paticipate the whole contest, but was
great fun. Only 10m/15m hopeless......... See you again next year,
thanks for the fb contest!!!
PA3ELD: Just a few QSO but hope to meet you again.
RS-177448: I logged the stations using EI5DI's SDL software but have re-
typed the SWL log so you can read it OK. This is the first time I have
entered the Polish Contest and enjoyed hearing all the stations in
Poland. I look forward to next year's contest.RZ1AYX: Dzieuje bardzo za
dobry test!"
RZ4PZL: TNX for nice contest! CUAGN next year! GL to all SP friends!
RZ9WWH: Thanks for nice contest."
SM6Z: Hereby the log for my effort in this year's SPDX. As usual I worked
only 7MHz CW. I am looking forward to meeting you all again next year,
and in between let's make some longer chats!
SM7HSP: TNX fer nice contest. Hope to come back next year again
dopuszczone do pelnego udzialu w zawodach. Taka decyzja organizatorow
przeciwnie - start w SP DXC potraktowany zostal relaksacyjnie
pelni.
SP1GZT: Sugeruje podawanie w raporcie pelnego skrotu - wojewodztwa i
powiatu
SP1NY/MM: W czasie zawodow moj statek znajdowal sie na Morzy Karaibskim u
zachodnich wybrzezy Kuby.
SP3KB: Wybralem wariant jednopasmowy i w dodatku 28MHz. Niestety zawiodlem
sie - rezultat: 20 QSO. W pierwszym dniu byly lepsze warunki
propagacyjne.
chetnych do pracy "only QRP"
trzeba koniecznie bardziej spopularyzowac te zawody wsrod polskich
nadawcow.
SP6ZDA: Zawody calkiem fajne, duzo stacji. W polowie zawodow spalil nam
sie wzmacniacz pozyczony od kolegi... Ale zawsze musza byc jakies
straty.
Logujac
QSO w K1EA/CQ WW program automatycznie wpisuje 15 ignorujac
wpisana poprzednio litere.
absorbuja uwage i sa trudne do realizacji.
i do ktorego staralismy sie regulamin dopasowac.
Ostatnia sprawa nie ujeta w regulaminie a odnoszaca sie do
stacji SOMB. Pracowalem w zawodach eksperymentalnie z dwoma TRX.
Staralem sie na innych pasmach dorabiac mnozniki. Ale dlaczego
nie moglbym robic innych QSO? Regulamin powinien to precyzowac.
uczestnikow zawodow.
SP8NR: Mozliwosc pracy SP z SP do mnoznika to nonsens
SP9IEK: Dyplomy albo certyfikaty powinny byc minimum do 10 miejsca w
kazdej z grup, bo to bylaby pamiatka udzialu w takich zawodach jak SP
DX Contest
T92M: Very nice contest,I enjoyed in it, see you next year.
UA0SJ: Good condition on 15 meter`s but I have limit time. Next year. Best
73 tu all Ham`s!
UA4RC: Very bad condition on 21 Mhz and very small in numbers Poland
stations 73!

Podlaskie (O) is still a challenge, but not as difficult as Chelm and

VK2APK: This was my 507th contest and I used the K1EA program. IARU part.

surprised when I made the first contact. That the Polish station sent

CONTEST COMMITTEE:
In year 2000 Scouts Radio Club SP5ZCC had the pleasure to work as the
Contest Committee. Also some people from outside of our club station
helped us very much. We mean Zbyszek SP5GRM, who was the man to confirm
all e-mail logs reception. We must also mention Zygmunt SP5ELA, Tom SP5CCC
and Mirek SP6HAO for all their notes and help during our work.
We were trying to do our best. Log checking can be a hard work. Please
forgive us any mistakes or errors. If you have any questions please
contact the Contest Committee.
The log checking work was done by the following team: Tomek SP5UAF, Marek
SQ5BPM, Michal SP5TAT, Pawel SQ5EBL, Norbert SP5HGB (ex. 3Z5AAN), Artur
