Amazing how things can turn out. I had originally planned for a
week-end of 40 m operating with my new 3 elm. 40 m beam, but when I 
tried to
turn it on friday evening, the Tic Ring was simply stuck...what a 
bummer...I
was all geared up for some nightly operating and then some cozy family 
time
during the day, but after the January storm I did not have many 
functional
antennas left, other than the biggest of them all; the 40 m beam - and 
now it
would not turn...It was very dissappointing, so instead I chose to do a
little 20 m operating on what is left of the former pride on top of my 
100
foot tower - the 10 elm. Sommer Beam - But several elements were missing
since the storm and the SWR was not perfect - and then, as I was about 
to start
there, my ACOM amplifier would not work, so I ended up operating with 
100 w and
a very broken antenna at 100 feet, but yet I managed to work more than 
450
contacts and 55 states/provinces on 20 m and go to the movies and play 
in
the snow with my kids...Now I am waiting for my new Steppir due to 
arrive
