Big changes following the CQ-WW contest.
Hello dear friends of the TBDXC DX Ultra-Marathon.
Here coms the monthly report of November 2022.
There have been a lot of changes especially for our SSB participants
because of the WWDX and you can see that in the new results. Therefore we
begin today with the report again with SSB:
QRP-SSB
(
https://tbdxc.hamserver.de/marathon/showresults.php?class=QRP&mode=SSB&year=2022&band=ALL&submit=Submit
)
Uli, DG4SFS is still the leader, but I am happy that Gian Nicola, IK1BBC
from Rappello is very active and overtook David, M6KCI, who unfortunately
has not updated his log for four months.
LP-SSB
(
https://tbdxc.hamserver.de/marathon/showresults.php?class=LP&mode=SSB&year=2022&band=ALL&submit=Submit
)
Here the whole ranking was turned upside down by Andreas, SV3RPQ, who as a
high-flyer immediately took over the pole position, i.e. from 0 to 1 :-)
and that with almost 10000 QSOs and almost 900 multis. This result would be
enough at the moment even to the place 1 with HP-SSB! Great performance
and I am curious how it will develop further in this category. Rubens,
IU1HJF is currently second. Dirk, ON3UN and George, KM4ODS have swapped
positions. Fifth is now Bas, PE4BAS, who is surely known to many through
his blog.
HP-SSB
(
https://tbdxc.hamserver.de/marathon/showresults.php?class=HP&mode=SSB&year=2022&band=ALL&submit=Submit
)
There were some changes in this category as well. Jim, KL7KK is still
number 1, but Harald, OE1HHB has overtaken Robert, ZS1OPB. In 4th place we
find a new call, namely Brian, M0NSI. Have fun in the marathon, Brian.
Place 5 is now Tom, MI0BHX.
So October has brought many changes in SSB ratings. Naturally, it is not so
far-reaching in CW after over tem month, but there is the WWDX-CW also
„before the door“.
Let's take a look at the CW categories:
QRP-CW
(
https://tbdxc.hamserver.de/marathon/showresults.php?class=QRP&mode=CW&year=2022&band=ALL&submit=Submit
)
The same picture as last month: Chris, G4BUE ahead of me, DL3NAA and Ray,
DL1EGR. Impressive, especially considering Chris is doning QRP the 770
Multis, which Chris has collected in the meantime and that without beam.
LP-CW
(
https://tbdxc.hamserver.de/marathon/showresults.php?class=LP&mode=CW&year=2022&band=ALL&submit=Submit
)
There has been no change here in places 1 to 4 compared with the previous
month: Derek, SP2R, Janusz, SP5J, Hen, OU2I, Piotr, SP7OGP - all familiar
callsigns! Fifth is now Stephan, YO8DOH. In this group, the gaps just
between 4th to 7th place are not so big and it remains exciting!
HP- CW
(
https://tbdxc.hamserver.de/marathon/showresults.php?class=HP&mode=CW&year=2022&band=ALL&submit=Submit
)
Again, I can make the report short because there were no changes: Bud, AA3B
(now with over 27500 QSOs), Red, DL1BUG, John, I2IFT, Steve, OZ3SM, Winni,
DK9IP - all still the same as in the last report, but all are busy
collecting points! I read that Bud plans to return to WWDX-CW as V26K QRV,
but I think his #1 spot is not in danger anyway! :-)
Now let's look at the Mixed categories, that is, participants who do both
SSB and CW.
QRP-Mixed
(
https://tbdxc.hamserver.de/marathon/showresults.php?class=QRP&mode=Mixed&year=2022&band=ALL&submit=Submit
)
Guillermo, HK4KM, Juergen, DF5WW, Anthony, K8ZT - same positions as last
month. However, since Anthony has scored 370000 points at WWDX-SSB, I think
there are still big changes to come! :-)
LP-Mixed
(
https://tbdxc.hamserver.de/marathon/showresults.php?class=LP&mode=Mixed&year=2022&band=ALL&submit=Submit
)
Augusto, IK4RQJ always seems to find new QSO partners and multis on the
bands. In the meantime he has worked 222 DXCC this year and in the last
month again well over 100 new multis. But also Jose, EA4HKF is anything but
lazy! :-) It is a pity that Adam,SP5AFK, the previous number 3 does not
participate in the marathon anymore. :-( The new number 3 is now Alberto,
EA1IQM, who has overtaken Mel, YV6BXN, again. Fifth is now Tom, OZ4MU in
eastern Denmark with an impressive antenna which can be seen on his qrz.com
page.
HP-mixed
(
https://tbdxc.hamserver.de/marathon/showresults.php?class=HP&mode=Mixed&year=2022&band=ALL&submit=Submit
)
There was also a surprise in this category! Randy, K5ZD is still the
superior leader in the field, even though he hasn't made an update for four
months and was active in the WWDX-SSB as V47T (with over 9500 QSOs! -
Congrats!). Second, out of nowhere, is now Sin, VA3TNM, who relegated Dan,
NP2J to third place. But since Dam hasn't posted a new result since April,
it can all be wrong and, as is well known, billing is done at the end of
the year. :-) Thomas, KE3GK and Luk, IK2XYI are now fourth and fifth.
Finally, let's look at the WARC category:
(https://tbdxc.hamserver.de/marathon/showresults.php?year=2022&warc=1)
No changes here! Bud, AA3B ist first, our CEO Pete, MM0TWX second, Lars,
LB2TB third, Augusto, IK4RQJ forth and me, Peter, DL3NAA fifth.
I wish you all good time at the key and at the microphone, GL in WWDX-CW
for our CW-freaks, nice ragchewing contacts and see you at the middle of
December for next report.
73!
