Hi Folks,

Got the rig in the new truck...massive noise from the fuel pump was
removed 100% with Ford TSB 99-12-9 (on 2000 and 2001 vehicles the filter
and installation is free). The TSB is basically a 2.5 mh choke in
series with the positive lead going into the fuel tank with a .1uf cap
across the positive and minus leads at the pump. In addition a ground
wire from the frame to the pump minus is also recommended by the Ford
RFI engineer although it is not part of the TSB. Apparently the minus
lead can radiate the unwanted signal along it's path back to the
battery.

Now I've got to figure out how to reduce the ignition noise. Does
anyone know if spark cable shielding kits are available? The Ford RFI
engineer told me to shield the spark cables but ground them only at the
engine side.

thoughts,
dave
