"ISPs that quietly watched the trials last year are now getting into the game. EarthLink, for example, is partnering with Progress Energy to deliver BPL in a field trial outside of Raleigh, North Carolina."

I'm surprised to read this being it's dated 23Aug04. Progress Energy just recently announced it has dumped BPL for now. So has Penn Yan and Aliant Energy in Cedar Rapids. 3 down; 50 or so to go.
