[RFI] Copper-plated steel strap for grounding?

Not specifically an RFI question, perhaps, but the efficacy of grounds
may affect RFI susceptibility.

While browsing around the hardware store, I came across 5ft lengths of
copper-plated steel strip intended for hanging copper water pipes from
joists, etc. Given that RF tends to flow on the surface of the
conductor, how do people think this would work for RF grounding
purposes, e.g., for connection between the rig and the ground bus? It's
much cheaper and more readily available than copper braid.
