It does/it can, if you saturate the particular magnetics
selected, by improper application, which was what I 
was pointing out ...

I believe it was you who referred to this factor as something 
of concern (saturating the magnetics), and the effectivity 
of those magnetics can be negated by improper 
application to a source of split-phase AC without 
consideration for where 'the current is really flowing'.

Unless, of course, we're dealing with 'special laws of 
physics' here ...
