[RFI] CFL bulbs - information

I have previously reported that I have experienced no problem with CFL
bulbs for both interior and exterior use (including very cold
weather). Several people have asked me what brand of CFL bulbs I have
been using. Honestly I don't buy just one brand. Right now I have
Globe brand in use and generics as well. I have had Sylvania too. Of
course some have burned out, but compared to the eternal replacement
of incandescent bulbs over the years, I get noticeably longer life
from the CFL units. I know they cost more, but once the initial
changeover was done I forgot about that, content to live with the
frustration of running out of incandescent bulbs and having to change
them and change them and change them..... you get what I mean. Of
course in cold weather use outside they do take a bit of time to hit
full output but I am not in a rush. Instant this, instant that...a
sign of our times. Don't you remember when we used to wait for our
tube rigs to warm up? No big deal.
And for sure- - - - no RFI from any CFLs.

I can't understand the vitriolic resistance to their use. I don't like
governments telling us what to do all the time, but I don't see this
issue as one of being forced to do anything. However, that is a matter
of opinion and I can live with it.
