[RFI] ATT Uverse

Mike,

I'm working on this at my house in CT. 80 & 40 M are the problem. U-Verse
uses VDSL2, which occupies ~DC - 8.5 MHz. Sometimes I can operate 100 W,
and after the U-Verse gateway dies and reboots (takes ~2 minutes), I can
continue to occupy that frequency without much further trouble. (The
gateway adapts.) Sometimes, I can even go up to 800 W power levels. But I
seem to have trouble in AT&T's lines to the neighborhood VRAD node. We are
working to get these checked out properly. (It seems that old school telco
techs may or may not appreciate the technical requirements of U-Verse.)

Even without using the ham rig, I see a couple of reboots a day. We have
traded "5 9's" POTS for about 2 9's VOIP/VDSL2 service. Ouch.

You can read the story at my site: http://aa6e.net/wiki/Uverse . I haven't
given up hope about taming my problems, and AT&T has been responsive, but it
is frustrating. If you have low tolerance for these "interesting" problems,
I would have to recommend something other than VDSL2 for now.
