[RFI] Netgear XAV101 Powerline AV Ethernet Adapter?

I'm about to run another Netgear HomePlug adapter in my house, as the
wireless gear doesn't penetrate our 1930's plaster and a lathing (and
screen) walls.

I can't be certain whether the exisitng Netgear units are noisy, or if they
are, how bad they are.  Is there a good way to test other thna simply
turning them on and off?
