Alan,

That caught my attention.  When using the 240A with an external scope, I 
thought the 240A performed its own internal 60 Hz sync function.   Or, does 
that internal function only affect the 240A's LCD display?  Sounds like the 
240A has an output with a standard 1Vp-p video level for use with a scope. 
But then in that configuration, you need the external 60 Hz reference for 
scope triggering.
