Hello,

What about this ones to catch in the shack noise also, do you think is good
to have one of this? Or I can do the same with a radio?

I would use ssb with wide filters, or dsb if your radio has it since that
gives double the bandwidth. In AM a stable signal would just sound like
quiet air, though that should be noticeable by the lack of noise it seems
more obvious when you sweep across a carrier in ssb than am.

This may be a silly question but...

I plan on evaluating my house for HF noise sources by powering the radio
from a battery and powering down the rest of the house. I just have to have
some sources with cell phone chargers, computer routers, laptop chargers and
such. Then I'll power up one breaker at a time.

Can I assume that the best receiver settings are AM mode and as the widest
bandwidth filter settings? As each breaker is switched on I should cycle
through the bands? I suppose if I do this I'll need to cycle the breaker
each time I change bands?

I better do this when the XYL isn't home :))
