[RFI] Recent RFI status - Direct TV and Dish?

I had issues after adding the 1500 watt amp to the station. The amp and the
TV box were only 5 feet apart through the wall into the next room.  I was
taking out one of the dual receivers in the Directv box.  I figured out
which coax feed I was leaking into, then I tightened all of the connectors.
Fixed it.  I was lucky.  The next step would have been to replace the
connectors.

Later, we upgraded to the 'Whole Home' DirectTV system which replaced all of
the coax, the dish, and the receivers.  They also added Cat-5 to Coax
Ethernet adapters and separate DC power supply/bias-T to send power to the
dish.  No leaks.

It sounds to me like the manufacturer of the switcher wall wart bothered to
put RFI suppression on only 1 side of the line, rather than both sides.
I'll also guess that there is no line-to-line cap in it, either, on the wall
plug end.  If that is true, I guess that is only half as bad as omitting all
RFI suppression components, as some makers are prone to do.

way.
