I also have been with the understanding that equipment in the shack should be star grounded.  Each piece of equipment grounded to a single point.  

So we should now bond each box to each other using a wide flat strap or copper mesh (shield copper) from RG8 or equivalent, then take that total bonding to a station ground such as a ground stake outside  using large solid copper wire or to copper water piping inside the house with the braid or strapping and bypassing around the water meter, for lightning protection?

I have mine connected to both the copper water pipe (to street side of the meter) and solid copper to a multiple ground rod system around my tower and another connected ground rod outside the shack window, all are connected together.
