The PL-660 SLV is the version of the model that has a plain plastic case.
At the time I bought my PL-660 I could choose between the plain (silver)
plastic case and a version that a "rubberized" coating on the case.

In my experience, the rubberized coating deteriorates over time. The
deterioration accelerates if the receiver is handled a great deal. In my
line of work, I carry the receiver in one hand fairly often. Skin oils and
dirt tend to damage the coating and before long the receiver looks terrible
and the coating that remains tends to be sticky. It's a mess I don't like
dealing with. Plain, uncoated, plastic cases seem to hold up better in my
commercial environment.

Functionally, all versions of the PL-660 are identical.
