If the IR filter is removed from a cast-off cellular telephone's camera 
lens, most arcs can be spotted with ease in a dark environment.  Also, you 
can see the skunk that's just up ahead...

Walk the fence on a dark night and many of the arcs will be visible -
not all, but quite a few.
