OK I'll bite Dave

>From what I read it is in regard to Transmitters and Receivers. Neither of which is
our Ham Radio Problem. Our problem is all the CRAP that Non- Transmitters and
receivers produce that cause our noise issues. Example is: this brand new Dell
Laptop I am typing on this evening required FOUR of these Clamp On 1" ID hole
Mix 31 cores. About $50 worth of them to keep the power supply that runs this
laptop computer from making terrible noise in my radio that sets 5 feet away from
this computer. I am sure that for well under One Dollar that Dell could produce a
power supply that didn't emit noise in either the DC 19v out line or back into my
AC power lines in the house. The same applies to many of the items we have in
our homes today.

In the last two years I have spent close to $1,000 US Dollars to reduce the noise
generated from my own house. Everything from Light bulbs to ferrite filters some
additional CorComm filters Wall Wart switching supplies are all GONE other than
ones like this Dell Computer. Add way too many hours of my time spent
eliminating these noisey devices or taming them so I can finally hear radio signals.

That is the problem.
