[RFI] RFI from variable speed swimming pool pumps

Good question. Thanks but the power situation in Turks & Caicos is very different from USA. Electricity is about $.48 PER KILOWATT HOUR! What’s yours? Pool alone presently costs almost $300/month for power. A two speed doesn’t have enough flexibility to optimize energy usage while providing adequate circulation and filtering. The new VS drives are also inherently more efficient so I’ll just have to deal with any RFI that results. Most of our renters are not hams in any event and if push comes to shove we’ll switch off or to the backup fixed speed pump during a contest etc. Hopefully line filters and ferrites will keep things manageable.
