It gets cold enough in Oklahoma winter to make CFLs a bad garage choice here, also!  Voice of experience.

I have never had RFI issues with CFL’s or LED light bulbs, except as noted below, in fact I use two in the shack for lighting the desk.  I have had failures though.  They both get pretty hot at the base to the point the plastic gets brown and eventually the glass loosens up.  I just had a LED failure a couple weeks ago, it started to flicker and the base was loose, that bulb was only about a year old.

The CFL’s don’t work very well in our cold winters, I tried them out in the garage and they didn’t come on in the cold.  On the other hand I have LED shop lights and they work in the cold, just don’t daisy chain them because then they really put out RF noise.  By that I mean plug one shop light into another.  I plug each one into separate outlets.
