If the shield of a coax is ungrounded at the shack (often due to a loose 
connector), the shield will radiate big time, and part of it is going to 
be close to the shack. The whole point of using coax is to prevent 
radiation until the RF gets to the antenna. There's no need to further 
complicate the issue.
