As Cary mentioned, you can find details on the Sccore award at
http://www.va3cco.com/sccore/sccore.htm
I am a member of CCO, and can answer any questions about it.
First off, this is a "Made for CCO" award, and RSM can model a similar
award around the Sccore award. For RSM, it can reflect a different set of
contests - that make sense for RSM. For example, the Ontario QSO Party is
part of the Sccore award. Sure - it can be part of an RSM award, but it
does not *have* to be.
The Sccore award is for everyone - of all skills levels, and station
compliments. For example, VE3XT operates CW QRP only with a vertical.
VE3TU - phone only, LP with a tribander, and wires for 40/80/160. Now that
he moved, he will LP with a vertical. Other folks, like VE3EJ and VE3AT
have big HP stations. At the same time, they don't operate *every*
contest, but they could.
For the score award, it is based on final, published scores. I use claimed
scores to track my points, but it is a "rough" number for myself - I need
to wait for final scores to be posted.
It is a lifetime achievement. You don't post any scores for a year or two,
then pick up again - nothing is lost - just that you don't move up the
ranks.
The better you do in any given contest - the more points you get. Top
score gets 1,000,000 score points, and everyone is measured against that
score. So - yes - a QRP guy can get his Sccore award - it will take a few
years, but it is a goal that can be accomplished. More effort - ie - more
QSO's, the more points he gets. Extra incentive to stay in the chair and
make more QSO's.
I suggest starting an RSM award Jan 1, 2017, and we can pick the contests
that make sense for RSM. If changes need to be made, they can be done Jan
1, 2018 - to add or drop contests for example.
Hope this helps as a starting point.
Tom - VE3CX
