[RSM] 6 Meter FT8

I've been calling CQ for the past half-hour on FT8 and am amazed at the
fact you can see how quickly the band changes in a matter of 30 seconds!

Several stations decoded were in for a matter of 30 seconds, or less.
AE5VB (EM31) was finishing a QSO with NZ3M and was decoded for about a
minute and a half. KD5M (EM60) and K5EK (FM03) were decoded for only one
or two sequences. K5JAZ (EM32) was worked, but just barely, with his
signal gone right after the final sequence.

Just now (0112 UTC) AE5VB called me but was in for the first 15 second
sequence and gone. I continued sending a signal report for a couple of
minutes but no joy.

I have operated early Sunday morning tropo and meteor scatter on 6
meters from serious contest stations, running a KW and a long yagi, but
WSJT, and FT8 in particular, takes things to another level. It is now
possible for stations with modest power levels and antennas to make QSOs
that were formerly the domain of the big boys.

This is going to be fun. :>)
