Serious RF problems in the shack developed between the XYL's WPX RTTY and
the DX CW contests somewhat limited operating time...no idea why it was
happening. The computer locking up made operating on 15 very difficult but
the band did not open much so little was lost. 20 was almost RF free
Saturday but got worse Sunday. 20 was very nice to EU even with just the
driven element from a TA-3. Next year, if all goes according to plan, we
will have a tower and the TA-3 up at this hilltop location. That should
make 20 very, very, good! The antenna on 80/40 is a 102-foot G5RV which I
would like to upgrade for next year if space can be found for a larger
antenna. The G5RV worked exceptionally well to the Caribbean and
Central/South America but not so much to EU. Thanks for all the Qs...that
was fun.
