[RSM] Contest Reminder

For those equipped for 160 operation, this weekend is the CQ WW 160 CW
contest. Contest runs 2200z Jan 26 to 2200 Jan 28 (4pm Friday to 4 PM Sunday
local.

 

Exchange is 599 + Stat or Prov.  DX stations will send 599 + CQ zone.
Everyone works everyone.

 

I am sure there will be a big outcry Monday from the FT8 stations
complaining of QRM and likewise the crotchety lowband veterans will be
complaining about the digital QRM.  Best to avoid the 1840-1843 window
unless you hear Bouvet Island calling for VE4's only.

 

For those that get on, don't be discouraged that the S9+20 dB signal from
the W1 and he can't hear you. They are likely listening on a directional
antenna aimed at EU.
