Dear WRTC ambassadors and guests

*We should be able to pick receive these broadcasts in Western Canada*

it is a real pleasure to inform you about something which I believe is a
novelty in spreading the news about any WRTC competition. It sends a chill
down my spine: 300 KW of solid rf-power to be employed to keep especially
our US-based WRTC-friends and, of course, all of Europe well informed.
To be more precise: On 13,860 KHz - just below the beginning of our 20m
band - a 20 dB antenna will be fed beaming towards North America. This
makes for 30 GW (GIGAWATTS that is; 30,000,000 Watts!!!) of effective
radiated power. Isn’t that something?
Well, most likely I couldn’t afford the electricity bill for an undertaking
like this; leave alone the strong likelihood of wiping out the proper
functioning of most of the electronic appliances in my village.

Here is the note of Rainer, DF2NU, the mastermind behind RADIO DARC. Please
spread the news on your local contest reflectors and other media to inform
your friends and fellow hams.

Stay tuned es vy 73 de Rudy, DJ3WE
