Here's my annual unabashed boosterism, hoping that you will get on and work
me (among the many others I'm sure you will work, including a few other
PVRCers who dabble in this fun, friendly contest). If things are slow when
I work you, I might even ask you to run the bands, CW and SSB.
The Canada Day Contest is July 1. It runs on UTC, so this year it will be
Sunday evening 00Z (8 PM EDT) thru Monday 2359Z. Rules are at
https://wp.rac.ca/rac-canada-day-contest-rules-2019/
Basically, 160M thru 2M, CW and Phone. Everybody works everybody, once
each band and mode. Canadians send RS(T) and province/territory.
Outlanders send RS(T) and serial number.
Non-Canadians count 2 point per QSO; Canadians count 10 points; "RAC"
stations (e.g., VE4RAC) count 20 points.
Multipliers are the 13 Canadian provinces/territories, on each band and
mode. (That leads to two quirks. First, a W3 is worth as much as a P5.
Second, you can work tons of "DX" (i.e., non-Canadians), but if you fail to
work at least one Canadian then your score will be zero.)
73, Art K3KU (wishing I could be at VE4VTR, but home and family
obligations are more important)
