The WF1B reflector has been shut down but Ray's software
is still going strong, which is good. If there was a RTTY Contest
Hall of Fame, Ray would be it's first inductee. Ray revolutionized
RTTY contesting and hopefully he will be remembered for it for
years to come.

It was sad to see Marty's "Enough is enough" post. Perhaps he
doesn't realize what Ray has done. Sure, someone would have
eventually wrote software for RTTY contesting, and perhaps others
did (yes they did, SCOTCHLOG by WA7EGA is an example).
But it was Ray that put it all together in a simple, easy package that
enabled us to achieve greater results and greater participation in
RTTY contesting. In the 1993 Roundup, by using RTTY by WF1B, I was able
to increase my score a whopping 40%. Although I've operated that
contest every year since it's existence, I've not come close to matching
that increase.

So to see the "thank you" posts to Ray from all his users and former
users is a great pleasure to me because I know the history. He deserves
these posts. They are part of a history.

Not only is Ray a great contest software writer, he is also
a great RTTY contester. Ray holds the World Record in CQWW for
Low Power using his own software. It is a record that will not be
broken for many years (unless I can make it to SA this year - just kidding).

Thank you Ray for catapulting RTTY contesting into the mainstream.

Now let's get on to the job at hand. See y'all next weekend in the NAQP.
We need participation outside NA as well. All contacts, regardless of
location, count for QSO points.

RTTY FOREVER
