Ditto what Mike said.

If you're using Microsoft's Outlook Express, you're WILL get bitten, if not
by this virus, then by the next one that comes along. Outlook Express is
notorious for one security hole after another. But it's free, so it's
perfectly suited for hams to use...

I avoid the problem entirely by using Eudora Pro (www.eudora.com) as my
e-mail program. And I've disabled all incoming content except plain text
messages. To date, I've not been bitten by any virus coming from any e-mail
anywhere. And I don't expect to get bitten in the future either.

If you won't do that, then at least disable all HTML in incoming e-mail (in
Windows 2000 version of Outlook Express, go to Tools | Options | Security
and select "Restricted Sites zone" in the "Security Zones" section.)

Also ensure you've got the latest versions of Windows, Internet Explorer
and Outlook Express -- you can do that for free by visiting
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com

And finally make sure you're using a good anti-virus program -- either
Norton or McAfee -- and that you get regular updates to the program.
