[RTTY] Power loss

Before I bother the nice folks at Ten-Tec on the assumption
I have a rig problem, I wonder if anyone has found that
running FSK rtty with a sound card produces the following
intermittent problem:

I suddenly lose power from my Omni VI plus, not completely
but a sharp drop. The receive audio to my MMTTY program
drops too, although I can sometimes still copy signals. It
happens without any cause that I can determine--and I have
found no consistent fix. Suddenly, the rig returns to full
power without my knowing why.

I just wonder if any of my sound card settings could cause
this--some critical level being exceeded and causing an
overload protection in the Omni or its power supply to kick
in? I have tried an identical spare Ten-Tec power supply and
the same thing happens.

I am using a Rigblaster but sending the FSK around it and to
the rear panel FSK input on the Omni, which normally drives
an Alpha amp in contests. My problem occurs with or without
the amp fired up. I do not have to be transmitting when the
drop occurs. I can suddenly see the receive level in the
MMTTY spectrum display drop. Pushing the tune button on the
Omni shows the same lower level of transmit power so perhaps
the problem is not confined to my rtty setup.

Any ideas would be appreciated. 73, Ed W1MAG
