[RTTY] Cable eating critters

I got up to the farm today only to find my rotator wouldn't turn.  The
tower is attached to an equipment barn, and I found the rotor cable,
which runs across the inside of the barn before going underground
gnawed almost apart in two different places.  Several of the wires were
completely severed.  I did the splices, which worked fine, and put down
a mess of moth balls around the cables, but does anyone have similar
experiences, or have a concoction that will keep the furry ones from
chewing up more cable??
