I worked the NA Sprint and found that my radio/ shack problem is still with
me. My results are pretty poor, but I tried. Still have not solved the
radio/shack problem.
NA SPRINT: QSO's = 17; Multi = 11 Claimed score = 187
I worked the first 10 qso's with 25 watts and then went to 50 watts. The rig
locked up on me, it has been doing since December 30th. All functions quit
and the rig dos not respond to any command. The solution is to turn rig
off / on and hit the reset button. I made the last 7 qso's doing that. It
got tiresome quickly and I went qrt.
HELP: My problem with running rtty is not my Paragon. It is something in my
set up in the shack. The Paragon is very RF sensitive and I think that is
the problem. I have run the Paragon at another qth and it works ok in the
ssb mode for rtrty. I am wondering if my KAM PLUS configuration is the
problem. I would like to take it off line and use a sound card program to
see if it would work for me and eliminate my problem. The KAM is v8.0 and I
have had it a long time.
I know there are several rtty programs out there, but I have no idea as to
which one to try. I would like to have recommendations as to which one to
use, where do I get it. What type of interface is recommended, commercial
or ? All I want is a stand alone program to let me work rtty qso's and the
contests. I don't want anything that connects to cluster spots etc., just a
simple rtty program. I am using WF1B v5.02 for contesting. Rig is Ten Tec
Paragon.
Please reply direct to my e-mail address so as not to clutter up the
reflector. I will put a summary on the reflector if requested.
Thanks......Dick / KS0M
