Well, consider this:

If there is an AFSK generator, it means you are using a
SSB modulator somewhere along the path.  How good is the USB
suppression of a typical LSB rig?

I also pointed to the harmonic distortion figure of the FT-990
AFSK generator.  Most Sound Cards can do much better, if levels
are adjusted properly.

Until a maladjusted AFSK signal shows up on the band and
obliterates VP6DI's signal :-).
