[RTTY] Best RTTY rig?

Duane,

I have one and have used it some running the legal limit. I didn't have any
problems, though I can't say I did sustained 1500W on RTTY.

Here's what the manual says:

"The titan has been designed to operate efficiently on eight bands at 1500
watts PEP or less. The TITAN cannot be run continuously ie Amtor, RTTY at
maximum power on 75/80 meters."

I think that means do it (say, 1500W on 20 RTTY) at your own risk.

I was surprised to read that was true in the Gap, since it
has no traps.

I am interested in getting a Titan DX. The Gap website says
"legal limit", but with a following asterisk. I could find
no reference to the asterisk.

Anyone have experience with the Titan DX?

Wish I'd known that before I ran 1500 watts into my Hy-Gain
TH5 Mark
II for years on end. Seemed to be ok when I finally took it
down,
but maybe I just don't recognize "smoking hunk(s) of
plastic" when I
see 'em. <g>

During that time I did smoke a couple of so-called "legal
limit"
amplifiers, but the antenna was no problem at all.
