I would say because those voting are NOT just dxers and contesters. The
total probably includes all the unwashed, the qrpers, etc. It probably
includes a lot of young people who are new to ham radio and are also more
interested in computers than those you might find in your typical rtty
contest. Among our ranks are many who can remember the days before computers
were used in rtty.
