[RTTY] Tara Melee amd Major Contests

I had a lot of fun in the Tara Melee.  Only managed to get in about 6 hours
of op time due to lost propagation (I live in the Black Hole of RF) and
other comitments.  Never did make the 160 contest. I did make about 100
contacts running the local National Weather Service Skywarn Recognition Day
Special Event Station (WX8GRR) here in Grand Rapids, MI  this morning. Nope,
they did not do any RTTY.

Thanks to all for the hints before the contest and also thanks to those who
managed to hear my signal during the contest.

My score has been sent for posting on the TARA RTTY Melee website.

157 QSO's  X 44 Multipliers =  6908 claimed score.

Sure did help on my RTTY WAS quest.

So now on the future events.

I have spent considerable time reading all I can about RTTY contesting so my
question is this.

Don,  AA5AU recommends taking the previous day off from work before a major
contest.

So what are the "major"  contests?

I need to do some advance vacation time planning before the first of the new
year. Hey,  I am all for taking a day off, especially when I get paid for
it.
