And the bottom line is - the /# is important because of course US 
call areas are mults! Obviously the same goes for VE/VY, JA & VK 
as well.

If those call areas were not mults, then it don't matter, end of story.

Zone numbers is simple - I'll accept what's given. But I would hate 
to miss out on a JA9 multi from a JA1 who was in the JA9 area :-)
